Everything you need to wax your face perfectly.

Waxing the face

Facial waxing is an experience that many people are just not prepared for. If you don't know how to prepare for a professional waxing, the results can be less satisfied. Proper preparation for waxing is essential to making waxing last longer. For a few simple tips that can make a big difference, read the techniques below.

Waxing the face and hair growth

A good face wax is actually best performed when some hair growth is allowed. If there is no facial hair at all, it is difficult for the wax to bind to the hair and remove the hair properly. In fact, there must be a significant amount of hair to wax properly. Most professional waxers advise people to wait until they have about one-half or one-half inch of hair before getting waxed.

While some may not be able to tolerate even that much hair, professional beauticians prefer that clients have a decent amount of hair to complete the waxing process. Those who are waxed regularly should wait at least three weeks before waxing again. Some people have a bit more hair growth and may wax more frequently, but two to four weeks is about average.

Make sure your skin is smooth

Completely clean skin is almost impossible to guarantee, but the cleaner, the better. I'm not just talking about dirt and grime, but spots, skin problems and wounds. These types of skin problems are often difficult to fix, so prepare to wax your face of lesser quality if you have a lot of skin blemishes or cuts.

While it's important not to have sunburns or too many spots, don't go overboard. Believe it or not, but most professionals prefer that clients not exfoliate at all beforehand. Also, women should consider their cycle when getting a face waxing due to blemishes and sensitive skin issues.
