Starter Set Legs

Start by waxing your legs.

If it's your first time, start with your legs. The bikini line, armpits and face are trickier to reach, so it helps to get used to the process before going to those areas. For more delicate areas, such as the bikini line and face, smaller strips are easier to handle and you can be more precise about which hair you are removing. Your face is the most sensitive, so only wax your upper lip or eyebrows once in a 24-hour period.

Waxing your legs

As tempting as it may be to get rid of your frizz, if it's your first time waxing, it's wise to wait at least two weeks after shaving before waxing. After your first waxing, you should wax every three to four weeks. As you continue to wax, your hair follicles will become thinner, resulting in smoother, hairless skin. How long you wait to wax depends on how fast your hair grows and what kind of wax you use. For example, soft wax can grab shorter, finer hairs, so a few days to a week of growth is sufficient. Make sure your hair is at least 1.5 mm long for best results.

Tip for waxing your legs!

Unlike shaving, waxing requires you to be one hundred percent dry. Unfortunately, wax does not adhere to wet skin. But that doesn't mean good hygiene is out of the question. Clean the area where you're going to wax and don't apply lotion. You want the area to be nice and dry. If you're very hot (or sweaty), apply a small amount of talcum powder before you start waxing.
